About

I created Ceran: The SVVSD Student Homepage as a place where students can easily access the many online resources we have available here in the St. Vrain Valley School District.

This homepage is named after Ceran de Hault de Lassus de St. Vrain. He was a fur trader in the 1800s. The St. Vrain River is named after him. I created the Ceran avatar by mixing the features of the Looney Toons’ character Elmer Fudd and a picture of the real Ceran St. Vrain. Read more about Ceran St. Vrain on Wikipedia.

The main page features three areas:

Left – This panel features links to online resources that are available to students district-wide.

Right – On the main page, this section is used to showcase student work. Teachers, please email me with any student poems, essays, artwork, etc. you would like to have featured here.

Comments: Positive or constructive comments are encouraged and welcome. To qualify as constructive, a comment must give input that, in your opinion, the creator could use to improve their work. All comments will be moderated. Inappropriate and off-topic comments will not be posted. Comments from people obviously misrepresenting their identity will also not be posted.

Top – The top navigation links to resources of individual schools. (Schools not listed have not requested their own page.)

Please note, I created and generally maintain Ceran on my own time. I enjoy and am happy to work with people to make this a useful space, but always remember you have access to the same resources and are free to build your own site if Ceran does not meet your needs or even if you just find me pig-headed. That being said, suggestions are always welcome!
